Cat Ears (Fanfic)

Here's a story of a girl, and something amazing happens to her. Lets say it has to do with cat ears...

"A she-cat that lives near catnip is the light source..." Shimmercloud mumbled. There was an awkward pause. "I can tell she is the one!" She exclaimed. The three of them looked at the hole. Meows could be heard inside the den. Shimmercloud slipped into the hole, but Alleypaw and Marie knew they needed to stay.

"Oh, Sparkflight, Ashstar! What a... surprise!" Could be heard from the den. "Why are you here?" The voice said again. More meows could be heard from the den, but Alleypaw and Marie couldn't hear them.

Shimmercloud came out of the hole, followed by two other cats. The first one was a chocolate tabby and the other was a silver tabby. Shimmercloud looked very nervous, and the two tabby's had their head raised and eyes closed while following her.

Shimmercloud sat next to Marie on the grass, and the two tabby's opened their eyes. The silver one fell backwards, their head hitting the grass. The chocolate one looked at Marie in pure shock. "I reacted the same..." Shimmercloud meowed nervously.

"She has ears like us, and a tail like us!" The chocolate tabby exclaimed. The silver tabby stood up and investigated Marie's tail. She looked almost scared, she was so freaked out.

Shimmercloud sighed. "Ashstar, Sparkflight, this is... what's your name, dearie?" She asked. Marie looked at the cats around her, very nervous. She was still shocked because she had cat features, and she was talking to cats.

"Marie..." She said nervously. "Mrroww!" She meowed when Sparkflight went by her tail.

"This is Marie. Marie, these are my two nieces, Sparkflight and Ashstar. Sparkflight is our deputy and Ashstar is our leader." Shimmercloud explained to Marie. Mewheart came out of the hole and sat next to Alleypaw, both of them watching the others talk.

"The clan must not know you're here." Ashstar meowed to Marie, after taking a deep breath and calming down. Marie held her tail away from Sparkflight, who was curious about it. Suddenly, all the cats looked at Marie's face.

"What's wrong?" Marie asked. Alleypaw pointed to Marie's face. She felt her face and felt something on her cheeks. "Whiskers!" She exclaimed. She had long, white whiskers on her face.

All the cats and Marie looked at Shimmercloud. She shrugged nervously. They all wondered how this was possible, a twoleg to be turning into a cat. It was obviously first time in history, even from the first clan cats roamed the forest from EmpireClan and EgyptianClan. Those were ancient times, when monsters did not roam the Lightningpath and Twolegs were not as much of a problem. Marie was certainly filled with magic, even more than when a kit feels when it first sees the stars.

It was first for Alleypaw and Mewheart to notice that the golden rays of the sun were beaming from the horizon. Marie had at once noticed that a day in the forest goes by fast. Sparkflight, Ashstar and Shimmercloud had an uneasy look going on. Alleypaw stood onto his paws. "It's almost time for us to go to sleep," The apprentice meowed. He dipped his head to Ashstar respectively and went through the hole in the wall of the medicine cat den and into the clearing. Mewheart followed him. She lashed her tail left to right as she left Marie and the three other cats alone.

Shimmercloud and Ashstar exchanged thoughtful glances on what to do with Marie. Sparkflight stepped forward, making it obvious that she had something to say. "Sister, we must deal with her tomorrow. We should find her a place to sleep, and we continue our lifes for the night." Sparkflight suggested. Ashstar nodded her head in agreement without opening her muzzle to say something. Shimmercloud immediately rose from the earth and padded slowly into the forest beyond. Ashstar signaled with her tail for Marie to follow, so she did as she was told.

Marie stood up and followed Shimmercloud. She was much taller than the living things that usually roamed the forest. She followed Shimmercloud, watching her from above. Very soon Shimmercloud found a large nest that was even big enough to fit Marie. Well, almost. And it was close to camp. It was covered with some leaves and moss was on the ground. Shimmercloud fixed the moss and leaves a bit and Marie came over to where she was. She had to crouch really low to get into it and her feet stuck out of it a little.

"Hope this is good enough." Shimmercloud meowed to Marie. Marie nodded and tried to get more comfortable after Shimmercloud padded away into the bushes and bramble. She fell into thought of what has been going on. It felt like a dream, like it was not real, like she was still in her bed in her home, asleep. The sun's light shone down on Marie, forcing her to grab a leaf and put it in her face, but it was useless. The sun had disappeared into the horizon right after she held the leaf to her face. As soon as the sky was filled with twinkling stars, Marie drifted into sleep.

The moon shone in the sky, the craters visible. The stars danced around in Silvercloud. Cats had gathered around a lake, the water seemingly endless. The reflection of the moon was huge in the clear water. Every cat bent down to lap at the magical liquid. When the felines were finished the lake was half full, as if they drank almost all the water. All the cats returned to the forest, disappearing into the unknown territories. Their scents faded away.

Marie shot up, awake. But something was different.

Marie yawned and looked around her in her moss and leaf bed. She felt much smaller than the night before. The leaves were higher above her head and she was not cramped uncomfortably in the small den. The sun's rays were just glaring through the green forest, shining bright into Marie's fierce, wild eyes.

Marie rose off the ground, not noticing one strange thing. She padded out of the small den and towards the camp where she remembered it from the night before. She smelled many scents, knowing obviously what they were from. She thought of the dream she had that night, which was the first time about cats. She felt the summer leaves crunch beneath her.

The scents were getting closer and closer, then as soon as she knew it she was staring at the back of the medicine cat den. That was when she noticed the thing that was different about her. Her ears, her tail, her snout, her eyes, her fur, her paws... Everything was brand new, except the eyes, ears and and tail of course. She forced herself not to have a heart attack; if that was possible for cats. All she allowed was a large wail of horror.

Marie was not Marie no longer. No, she was a feline. She was not one of those 'twolegs' that the forest cats called them. She had a furry brown pelt with a white chest, arms and grey paws. This was a big change in her life, which was an obvious.

All she did was fall onto the earth unconscious as soon as she saw a blurry figure in the hole of the medicine cat den. The figure was familiar to her until her eyes closed. It ran to Marie, or whatever she was, with a disturbed look on her face. The familiar cat sniffed her and instantly looked like it had an idea. It ran into the hole and some time later came back out with two other cats, Ashstar and an unfamiliar one. It was small with a yellow and white pelt and looked curious and energetic. The three cats dragged Marie into the hole, which was a bit of a challenge but they eventually got her inside the den.

Marie felt whiskers tickling her face, which made her shot her eyes open. As soon as she did, blurry figures ran away yelping in fear. She was confused, she didn't know what was going on. As soon as she recovered from passing out, or whatever cats called it, she instantly knew what was happening. She laid in Shimmercloud's den, which felt quite peaceful.

"You disturbed her sleep!" Hissed a familiar voice from somewhere in the den. She heard paws scrambling out of the den and she smelled something new, and it had a hint of fear in it. She knew that the voice was not meowing to her; it was meowing to the figures that woke her up. She soon remembered who the voice belonged to. It was Shimmercloud, the third cat she had seen and the medicine cat of LightClan, but Marie felt another presence in the den aswell. She saw the small yellow cat gazing into her eyes next to her.

Marie flinched in surprise. The cat staring at her made her feel awkward, but the cat didn't stop. She looked at the entrance of the den; the opposite side of the hole. She saw Shimmercloud and Ashstar meowing up a conversation, but she could not hear anything. The two cats padded over to her, Ashstar in front of Shimmercloud. Shimmercloud flicked her tail at the cat that was next to Marie, and it padded away into a rock in the den, making Marie feel relieved. Ashstar laid down next to her.

"Marie, are you feeling good?" Ashstar asked in a gentle tone. She looked uneasy like the first time they had met.
